AMSA Congratulates 2003 Peak Performance Award Winners
Since
1986, AMSA has recognized member clean water agencies for excellence in
wastewater treatment as measured by their facilities’ compliance with National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits via the Association’s
Peak Performance Awards program. The Association honored member utilities for
their exceptional compliance records during its National Environmental
Achievement Awards Luncheon at the May 2004 National Environmental Policy Forum.
There are three types of Peak Performance Awards: Platinum Awards – giving special recognition to member agency facilities that have consistently met NPDES permit limits for five consecutive years; Gold Awards – honoring member agency facilities that consistently meet all NPDES permit limits during a calendar year; and Silver Awards - presented to member agency facilities having five or less NPDES permit violations for a calendar year.
AMSA published a complete list of the 2003 Peak Performance Award winners in the May and July/August issues of Clean Water News. Due to space constraints, this Year in Review lists only the Platinum Award winners recognizing their outstanding performance over a continuous five-year period. The Association would also like to congratulate the 237 member agency facilities who received AMSA’s 2003 Gold Award and the 142 member agency facilities who received the 2003 Silver Award.
