Member Response to May Policy Forum Promises Excellent Attendance & Activism
The National Office has been gratified by member agency response to AMSA's 2001 National Environmental Policy Forum & 31st Annual Meeting. Registrations, both at the hotel and for the Forum, are ahead of typical response - and interest in the quality and content of the agenda is high. The National Office is focusing increased attention to ensuring our members presence on Capitol Hill. Positive member response in this area is sure to pay dividends with regard to AMSA's priority issues. We look forward to an excellent meeting and to seeing you soon in Washington.

AMSA/WEF Task Force on Strategic Alliance Opportunities to Hold Second Meeting

At the request of AMSA President Bill Pugh and WEF President Joe Stowe an AMSA/WEF Task Force met on April 24, 2001 to engage in a facilitated discussion of opportunities for strategic alliances among the organizations, with a focus on government affairs. The Task Force is comprised of three member representatives of each Association and was also broadened to include the perspectives of Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF), as represented by Glenn Reinhardt, Executive Director. Executive staff from AMSA and WEF were also present. Participants had a constructive discussion and requested to meet again during AMSA's National Environmental Policy Forum. That meeting has been scheduled for Sunday, May 20, 2001. A report on the deliberations of the Task Force will be provided both in the Board materials and to the full Board of Directors during their meeting on May 21, 2001.
