Water Quality & The Wastewater Community:
Emerging Pollutants, New Challenges
July 15 – 18, 2003
The Fairmont Copley Plaza
Boston, MA

AMSA’s upcoming Summer Conference, Water Quality & the Wastewater Community: Emerging Pollutants, New Challenges, will be held at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, Mass., July 15-18, 2003. The conference topic could not be timelier as the wastewater treatment community has witnessed an explosion in the number and complexity of water quality related challenges in the last few years. Not only are publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) seeing a more intense focus on managing familiar pollutants, such as bacteria, nutrients and bioaccumulative substances like mercury, but POTWs are also faced with issues related to “emerging” pollutants, such as pharmaceuticals and disinfection byproducts, some of which are considered endocrine disruptors. In addition, the development of new water quality management tools, such as watershed management and water quality trading bring new challenges to the clean water community. AMSA is pulling out all the stops to make the 2003 Summer Conference our best yet!

Now is the ideal time to make plans to attend this key technical meeting, and everything you need to plan your participation is attached to this ‘members-only’ advance mailing. Don’t delay – register today!
