Clean Water Services Receives Recognition

Clean Water Services of Washington County has received an "Excellence in
Management Recognition" award from the Association of Metropolitan Sewerage
Agencies. The presentation was made at the association's winter conference.
Clean Water Services (formerly Unified Sewerage Agency) received the award for
its "Competitiveness Initiative" launched in 1997, which it says has saved
ratepayers nearly $72 million over the last seven years through the use of new
technologies, a workforce reduction and the consolidation of staff and
resources.
