Clean Water Action Plan Time Line of Key Action Items

Attached is a follow-up analysis from the AMSA National Office Staff on the joint EPA/USDA Clean Water Action Plan as submitted to Vice President Gore on February 19, 1998. The Action Plan is a result of the Vice President's October 18, 1997 directive to EPA and USDA to work with other federal agencies and the public to develop a Clean Water Action Plan that charts a course toward fulfilling the original goal of the Clean Water Act -- "fishable and swimmable" waters for all Americans (see AMSA Regulatory Alert, RA 98-3). The attached analysis, titled, "Clean Water Action Plan Time Line of Key Action Items," captures all of the key action items detailed in the Action Plan and organizes them in chronological order. The Timberline also provides a brief summary of AMSA's activities as they pertain to the Plan's key action items. AMSA will continue to track the commitments and goals outlined in the Plan and keep the membership apprized of ongoing developments and progress. If you have any questions regarding the Clean Water Action Plan, please feel free to contact Mark Hoeke, AMSA 202/833-9106 or mhoeke@amsa-cleanwater.org.
