Checklist Companion Report to be Released in Orlando

AMSA's Privatization Workgroup is completing a companion report to the highly successful, "Evaluating Privatization: An AMSA Checklist." The new publication, titled, "Managed Competition: Developing and Responding to RFQs & RFPs," is scheduled for release during the Association's February 1997 Winter Conference, Evaluating Privatization II: Reinventing Clean Water Services in a Competitive Environment. The report addresses necessary preparation for managed competition and relationships with elected officials, employees, the public and the media. AMSA's 1996 Financial Survey

AMSA's Facilities Financing Committee is continuing its triennial AMSA Financial Survey this year which is intended to provide the membership with information on trends in agency financing, expenditures, needs, and rates nationwide. The National Office received 107 responses to a survey form distributed in March. A final report will be produced by the Facilities Financing Committee for the membership in early March 1997. AMSA Survey on Staffing/Salary/Benefit Levels

AMSA's Facilities Financing Committee has finalized its Staffing, Salary, and Benefits survey. The purpose of the survey is to develop a national view of how staffing, salary, and benefit levels compare with other agencies of similar size, service area, level of treatment, and population served. AMSA's National Office will distribute the survey report to the membership via an upcoming Membership Update. AMSA 1997 Winter Conference

AMSA will build upon the theme of its 1996 Summer Conference - "Evaluating Privatization: A Clean Water Perspective" by continuing the examination of the public-private partnership phenomenon during the 1997 Winter Conference, "Evaluating Privatization II: Reinventing Clean Water Services in a Competitive Environment." The conference will be held February 4-7, in Orlando, Florida at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel.
