AMSA/EPA 2000 Pretreatment Workshop Adds New Feature

AMSA and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are finalizing plans for the 2000 Pretreatment Coordinators Workshop, which will take place November 15-17, 2000 at the DoubleTree Hotel at Reid Park in Tucson, Ariz.

Workshop to Feature First-Ever 'Town Meetings'
The workshop format is designed to maximize interaction among attendees at all levels of government as well as opportunities for each group of pretreatment program co-regulators to meet among themselves. As an added area of interest for workshop participants, this year's program will feature first-ever federal, state and local “town meetings.” In lieu of regional and issue-specific breakout sessions, the “town meetings” will allow further exploration of issues raised during the previous workshop sessions — with a report back to the full group of attendees later in the program.

AMSA members should soon receive further information on the 2000 Pretreatment Coordinators Workshop, and in the coming months AMSA's Clean Water News and weekly FaxAlerts will contain more information on the workshop's agenda. By the end of August, AMSA, EPA and state pretreatment personnel will be able to register online at AMSA's web site.

The program for the 2000 AMSA/EPA Pretreatment Coordinators Workshop builds on the previous ten years of informative workshops and provides a unique opportunity for pretreatment professionals from across the country to meet and network with their peers, identify problem issues in pretreatment, and work together to formulate solutions. The workshop format is designed to maximize interaction among attendees at all levels of government.
