EPA Officials Note AMSA's TMDL Leadership
AMSA Special Committees are often acknowledged as the Association's backbone, bringing top-notch leadership and policy, technical and legal expertise to pressing national water quality issues. The work of AMSA's committees on the total maximum daily load (TMDL) issue is no exception.
AMSA's strong stance on TMDLs drew praise from leading EPA officials during the 2000 Summer Conference and furthered distinguished the Association as a leading water quality advocate. In response to the numerous legal, legislative, regulatory and technical challenges posed by TMDLs, AMSA's Special Committees collaborated extensively to apply their skills and experience to this thorny water quality issue.
