Law Seminar Agenda to Highlight Key Clean Water Issues
This year’s Law Seminar agenda will focus on timely legal issues and the
latest developments affecting the clean water community. Most sessions will
include brief "primer-style" issue overviews for new practitioners followed
by in-depth discussions on recent developments, strategies and practical
applications for professionals at all levels. Some of the hot topics that
will be explored at the 2003 Law Seminar include:
-
Weather Issues — which continue to play a prominent role in policy
discussions across the nation. Law Seminar attendees will hear the latest on
blending, sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), combined sewer overflows (CSOs),
and storm water;
-
Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) — panelists will provide updates on the
latest developments, review emerging trends, and offer strategies to manage
your TMDL;
-
Key Legal Cases — featured speakers will provide an overview of the latest
Clean Water Act cases, citizen suits, and the latest enforcement and
litigation trends;
-
Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) — panelists will discuss WET limits and how
they can be managed in your permit;
-
The Information Quality Act — learn how to use this Act to your agency’s
advantage!
In addition, Seminar attendees will learn new strategies and “tips and
tricks” to maximize interaction and communication with the general public.
