It's Not Too Late to Get Recognized!
With the March 5th application deadline rapidly approaching, AMSA urges its member publicly owned treatment works (POTWs) to apply for the AMSA Peak Performance Awards Program. The program recognizes member agency facilities for excellence in wastewater treatment as measured by their compliance with their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements. The Awards Program consists of three categories: Platinum - recognizing 100% compliance with NPDES permits over a consecutive five-year period from calendar years 1998 through 2002; Gold - recognizing facilities with no NPDES permit violations in 2002; and Silver - recognizing facilities with no more than five NPDES violations in 2002.Each year, AMSA recognizes increasing numbers of POTWs with a Peak Performance Award, demonstrating the excellent record of environmental stewardship and public service performance of the Association’s public agency members.
