Regional Business Services Workshops Offered
The Association of Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies (AMSA) in partnership with the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) is considering offering three regional workshops to complement the Creating High Performance Business Services handbook and showcase the curriculum of the on-site workshops of the same name. To determine the level of demand for these workshops, we are surveying our memberships to gauge your level of interest. Please take a moment to review the information which follows and indicate your interest in attending a workshop.The 1½ day regional Creating High Performance Business Services workshops will be oriented toward agency heads, high-level staff and department managers representing key business service sectors. The workshop curriculum will examine the crucial role that business services play in supporting the core operations of public water and wastewater agencies. The interactive workshops will provide agencies with a comprehensive, hands-on approach for improving the performance of utility business services, such as procurement, human resources, accounting and finance and customer service just to name a few. Participants will be led through a five-step program to assess key business services, will examine model performers, and will gain the tools necessary to develop improvement and implementation strategies.
It is envisioned that each of the three workshops will be held for a full day on a Thursday and a half day on a Friday. All three workshops would take place between February and June of 2001. They will be offered at locations in the western, central and eastern United States. The estimated registration fee for the 1 ½ day workshops will be $475 per person.
