AMSA’s Security & Emergency Preparedness Committee
will meet via conference call on November 5, 2004
from 1:00 – 2:30 pm Eastern.
Any interested AMSA member is invited to join the call.
Among the items slated for discussion are potential legislative priorities in the security arena for the next Congress – and a review of security-related questions proposed for the Association’s upcoming 2005 Financial Survey.
There continues to be interest in Congress to take action to encourage and support wastewater utilities as they address security issues. Additionally, the results of a new Governmental Accountability Office study on funding for wastewater security – conducted at the request of the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee – will be released early next year. We are very interested in hearing from AMSA member agencies on these and other security related issues.
