AMSA ACTION:
Many of the same provisions in H.R. 828, authored by the CSO Partnership, are also included in the combined sewer overflow (CSO) section of the AMSA-led draft Urban Wet Weather Watershed Act of 1999. Beyond CSO issues, the draft urban wet weather watershed bill addresses watershed management approaches to all wet weather flows, sanitary sewer overflows, urban stormwater runoff, total maximum daily loads and grant funding. Recently, the CSO Partnership has amended H.R. 828 in response to concerns of Senate Environment & Public Works Chairman John Chafee. The CSO Partnership is pursuing the introduction of H.R. 828 in the Senate.
