To: Members & Affiliates From: National Office Date: June 12, 2001 Subject: AMSA’s New Government Relations Directory Reference: MU 01-6 The National Office is pleased to provide you with the Government Relations Directory for the 107th Congress. The Directory is designed to assist AMSA member agencies with their legislative and regulatory outreach activities with the Congress and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Directory provides detailed information on the key congressional offices, committees, and individuals AMSA works with to make the clean water community’s issues known to Congress and EPA. The Directory includes guidance on contacting your congressional representatives and expressing your POTW’s individual issues. We hope you will consult this resource often as you engage national policy-makers on clean water issues.
Please note that the leadership of certain congressional committees is changing due to recent political events. A downloadable update to the Directory will be available in the near future. We will notify you as soon as it is complete.
In addition to the Directory, you will find another legislative resource on AMSA’s web site — Congressional Connection. This tool provides AMSA members with online access to Congress and easy to customize letters to send to your congressional representatives on key POTW issues. Just click on the Congressional Connection icon in AMSA’s Member Pipeline at http://www.amsa-cleanwater.org. Following the launch of AMSA’s new Clean Water on the Web site, the Congressional Connection icon will be featured prominently on AMSA’s home page for even easier access.
