Since its inception in 1983, AMSA's NEAA program has honored 170 individuals and 122 member agencies. AMSA is now accepting nominations for its 2005 National Environmental Achievement Awards (NEAA) program.

NEAA Honors Individual and Member Agency Achievement
The NEAA program offers the perfect opportunity to recognize local, state and federal elected/appointed officials for their contributions to the clean water community — and honor your agency and/or individual staff members for notable projects and accomplishments.

Member Update 04-18 provides you with all the information you need to apply for recognition! AMSA's National Environmental Achievement Awards program is pleased to solicit nominations for the 2005 program in the following categories recognizing individual and member agency achievement.

Enclosed is information on the eligibility and criteria requirements for each award as well as instructions for submitting nominations. Applications must be received by AMSA's National Office no later than Friday, December 17, 2004. All applications require a signature endorsement of the nominating agency's representative to AMSA. Be sure to indicate your agency's chief elected official(s) on the application form. AMSA's National Office will notify your local officials (as indicated on the application form) if your agency is selected for an award.

AMSA's Awards Committee will review each application and select honorees during AMSA's 2005 Winter Conference, Sustainable Systems, February 1-4, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas. The 2005 National Environmental Achievement Awards will be presented at a special awards luncheon on Monday, May 2nd, during AMSA's 35th Anniversary Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
