Trinity River Authority Receives Excellence in Management Recognition
AMSA's 2004 Winter Conference
ARLINGTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 2004--The Trinity River Authority
received Excellence in Management Recognition from the Association of
Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies (AMSA), on Feb. 4, 2004 during a ceremony at
AMSA's 2004 Winter Conference.
The Excellence in Management Recognition Program recognizes public wastewater
utilities that have successfully implemented progressive management initiatives
that address the wide range of challenges facing the clean water community. TRA
was selected for this honor for its significant efforts over the past several
years in the following categories:
-- Facility planning,
-- Chemical-Electrical cost reduction,
-- Workforce Initiatives,
-- Wastewater Re Use
-- Win-Win partnerships with TRA's customer cities.
TRA has received many awards that were also instrumental in being selected for
the recognition. Over the last three years, TRA has received one Platinum, eight
Gold and three Silver AMSA Peak Performance Awards as well as twenty Safety
Association awards and our Public Education programs. AMSA Peak Performance
awards are given to utilities demonstrating perfect or close-to-perfect records
in meeting the EPA and State discharge permit requirements.

The Associated Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies (AMSA) is an organization composed
of wastewater agencies in the U.S., and includes only those members that own and
operate large wastewater utilities. With the AMSA headquarters in Washington,
the organization is able to provide members with services related to water
quality issues of national concern while maintaining a close liaison with
federal regulatory affairs. TRA has been a member of AMSA since 1975, and was a
founding member of the Texas affiliate, TAMSA, formed in 1990.
The Excellence in Management Recognition will be in effect for a period of three
years. Two other Texas agencies and forty-six other agencies in the nation
received the recognition.
The Trinity River Authority is a governmental water utility that will operate
