The city's water pollution control division received a Gold Peak Performance
Award for achieving 100 percent compliance with its pollutant discharge
elimination system permits in 2004, the city announced this week.
The National Association of Clean Water Agencies recognized the city during its
annual meeting in May in Washington, D.C. The recognition is held for three
years, the release said.
Flint Mayor Don Williamson said in the release that the award shows how
employees "are working tirelessly to ensure we give quality services" to
residents.
