COUNTY NEWS

National honors: Clean Water Services, the county's sewer and
surface water treatment agency, recently received two national
awards.

Employees of the agency's Rock Creek, Durham and Hillsboro
facilities earned Gold Awards from the Association of Metropolitan
Sewerage Agencies.

The annual award is given to facilities with no permit
violations. Employees at the Forest Grove facility earned a Silver
Award, given to departments with fewer than five violations.

According to the agency, each of the facilities must meet more
than a thousand permit conditions annually, including monthly,
weekly and daily limits to protect the Tualatin River.
