AMSA/EPA Pretreatment Workshop Showcases Critical Developments; Offers
Unique Opportunities
The 2001 AMSA/EPA Pretreatment Coordinators Workshop will be held in
Nashville, Tennessee, November 7 - 9, 2001. The Workshop agenda builds on eleven
prior years of informative sessions focused on the latest pretreatment issues. As always,
the Workshop provides a unique opportunity for pretreatment professionals from
across the nation to identify program challenges and work together to create solutions.
The workshop format is designed to maximize interaction among attendees and
representatives from all levels of government. If you are active in your agencys
pretreatment program this is one workshop you should not miss!
Workshop to Address National Developments
This years forum will bring together experts from local and state
governments and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions and Headquarters to
discuss opportunities to improve the direction of the National Industrial Pretreatment
Program. New developments on key issues with implications for national pretreatment
initiatives such as: mercury, radioactivity, effluent limitation guidelines, pretreatment
streamlining, the National Biosolids Partnership, total maximum daily loads, sanitary
sewer overflows and EPAs strategic goals program receive significant scrutiny and
discussion at the Workshop. The Workshop will also feature several
informative breakout sessions that will allow attendees to interact with their peers and
address critical pretreatment issues. Significantly, an unprecedented guidance document
encouraging cooperation between commercial laundries and public wastewater treatment
agencies will be unveiled during an informative panel presentation.
