National Biosolids Partnership Part 503 CD-ROM Core Documents

AMSA's National Office is pleased to make available to its membership a complimentary copy of a CD-ROM containing over 10,000 pages of core documents that were used by EPA to support development of the Part 503 sewage sludge regulations which were promulgated in February 1993. The work is completely accessible with easy-to-use search capabilities.
The National Biosolids Partnership (NBP), which sponsored the development of this project, is comprised of AMSA, the Water Environment Federation, and U.S. EPA. As stated in the attached letter from Robert Hite, NBP Chair, the CD can be used as a starting point for biosolids research and in preparation for public meetings. A table of contents for the CD core documents is also included. Over the next several months the Partnership will be developing additional materials to assist the wastewater industry in promoting public acceptance of biosolids. A guidance document to facilitate characterization of radionuclide sources in biosolids at wastewater facilities, for example, will be distributed to the membership this month.
