AMSA's 2003 Summer Conference

Registration
To attend AMSA’s 2003 Summer Conference, please complete the enclosed registration form and mail or fax it along with your registration fee(s) payable to AMSA, or register on AMSA’s web site. Advance registrations must be received by Thursday, July 3, 2003. Advance registrants will receive written confirmation via mail or email. Faxed and online registrations will be accepted after the deadline but will not be confirmed. Should you register, but are unable to attend, a full refund will be made if the cancellation is received by AMSA no later than July 3. Thereafter, a $100 cancellation fee will be applied.

Accommodations and Rates
A block of rooms has been reserved for conference participants at The Fairmont Copley Plaza from Friday, July 11 through Saturday, July 19. Reservations must be made by Friday, June 13, to receive the group rate. After this date, reservations will be accepted on a space available basis only, with no guarantee that the conference rates will apply. To ensure a hotel room, contact The Fairmont Copley Plaza, 617/267-5300 and indicate that you are a registrant of the AMSA Conference. The special room rate is $195 for a single/double plus applicable taxes. Check-in time is 3:00 pm, check-out is 12:00 pm, and baggage storage is available. If you are a late registrant and The Fairmont room block is full, the National Office will be happy to assist you with information on other hotels in the area.

Airline Reservations
AMSA has selected American Airlines as the carrier for their upcoming meeting in Boston, Mass. To utilize the group discount, call the toll-free number 800/433-1790 to make your reservation. Refer to the Association’s AN Number 5273AH and the conference dates of July 15 - 18 when making your reservation. AMSA’s discount rates will be available up to 3 days before and after the conference.

Ground Transportation
The Fairmont Copley Plaza is approximately 30 minutes from Logan International Airport. The Hotel does not offer a complimentary shuttle; however, they recommended the Back Bay Shuttle, and a 1-way fare is $9. Return reservations for the shuttle from the hotel to the airport can be made through the concierge. The shuttle runs between 7:00 am – 7:00 pm and departs each hour on the 27 and 57 minutes. Taxis are available for approximately $22 each way. Boston’s metro system, the “T”, is also available from the airport (if you do not have much luggage). To get to the Fairmont, take the inbound blue line 3 stops to State Street, then transfer to the outbound orange line to the Back Bay stop. From the Back Bay stop, turn right, and the hotel is approximately 1 block. The fare is $1.

Avis Rent-A-Car has been designated as the official car rental company for the 2003 Summer Conference. Discounts are available by calling Avis directly at 800/331-1600. Our Avis Worldwide Discount Number is D003081. The Fairmont Copley Plaza has valet parking available at $32 per day, including in-and-out privileges.
