Dear Clean Water Colleague:
Join us for the 2007 National Clean Water Policy Forum,
May 6 - 9, 2007, at the Renaissance Washington in Washington, DC. The
Forum will provide a unique opportunity for the National Association of
Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and the Water Environment Federation (WEF)
members to hear from, and carry the clean water message to, leading policy
makers on Capitol Hill and in Executive Branch.
Your registration fee includes not only the timely and
informative program, but also an evening reception on Monday, May 7,
breakfast, lunch, and an evening reception on Tuesday, May 8, and a
regulatory roundtable breakfast on Wednesday, May 9.
America’s Top Policymakers
Take Center Stage
The Clean Water Policy Forum provides a unique opportunity to hear
from policymakers key to the clean water community’s efforts. With the 2006
elections giving the Democratic Party leadership in both the House and
Senate, the landscape has shifted dramatically, and an exciting year is
anticipated both for environmental policy in general and clean water issues
in particular. As you can see from the enclosed preliminary program, we have
an exciting agenda including perspectives on legislative, regulatory, and
enforcement priorities from members of Congress, professional staff from
House and Senate committees, and leaders in the Executive Branch who will be
providing insight into the direction of the 110th Congress, shed light on
the dynamics between a Democratic Congress and a Republican White House, and
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) pressure to finalize
critical policies before 2008 when a new president will be elected.
Utility Executives Summit &
Issues Forums Offer New Opportunities
This year’s Policy Forum agenda will include a first-ever Utility
Executives Summit on the afternoon of Monday, May 7. All Policy Forum
attendees are invited to attend as utility executives from across the
country engage in this provocative facilitated dialogue examining the past,
the present and the future of the clean water community specifically – and
the water sector as a whole. Issue Forums are also planned allowing
registrants to delve deeply into the critical issues embodied in climate
change, security and wet weather.
Committee Meetings,
Recognition & Networking
The Policy Forum will kick off with NACWA Committee meetings and
NACWA and WEF will jointly host the Issue Forums. Join your colleagues to
hear how our organizations are working together on key issues of importance
to the clean water community. In addition, on Tuesday, May 8 we will be
recognizing members of the clean water community for their excellence during
an Awards Ceremony and Reception.
We have an engaging program, excellent speakers in a setting
we know you will feel engaged in. We look forward to seeing you in
Washington!
Sincerely,
Dick Champion, Jr. NACWA President |
Mohamed Dahab WEF President |
