Seminar panels will bring together many of the nation’s top practitioners to address both practical and cutting-edge issues including traditional and non-traditional defensive tools (e.g., upset, bypass, permit shield, lab error, force majeure, common law defenses); innovation in relationships between in-house and outside counsel; how regional facilities have worked with satellite systems to make environmental progress; management of electronic information; citizen suits trends; negotiation with states, federal agencies, and activist groups; making water quality models work for public agencies; watershed trading; and compliance. The Seminar will kick-off with a Primer providing an overview of relevant regulatory and statutory provisions. Professor Jody Freeman, Director of the Harvard Law School Environmental Law Program will keynote the 2006 Seminar.
