Report to the Board of Directors

The following report sets forth issues and activities anticipated to be addressed through the Legal Affairs Committee over the next year:
- Continue to hold working meetings in conjunction with AMSA meetings to educate member agency attorneys and provide assistance to agency managers.
- Conduct AMSA/AMWA Clean Water Law Seminar on November 12-13, 1998 in San Diego, Calif. The Seminar will provide AMSA member attorneys with the opportunity to earn Continuing Legal Education credits. Additional seminars will be considered for 1999.
- Develop guidance for AMSA member agencies on addressing issues associated with TMDL development, listing, allocation and implementation.
- Act as a resource to other AMSA Special Committees.
- Consult with AMSA's Counsel on litigation, including settlement discussions.
- Increase active committee membership and increase agency lawyer representation.
