Join Your Clean Water Colleagues
Join your clean water colleagues July 19-22 for the National Association
of Clean Water Agencies’ (NACWA) 2005 Summer Conference – Wastewater
Conveyance & Treatment . . .Navigating an Uncertain Regulatory Environment.
Despite a lack of clear national guidance, the nation’s clean water agencies
continue to make steady progress towards the goals of the Clean Water Act.
Many communities are committing significant dollars to address sanitary
sewer overflows (SSOs) without the certainty that they will ultimately be in
compliance with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) policy. Beyond
the wet weather arena, there are other challenges – collection system issues
involving maintenance and replacement programs – and obstacles at the
community level that include affordability considerations and long-term
planning for infrastructure improvements.
Come learn how utilities are improving methods to maximize system
capacity, reduce infiltration and inflow, provide treatment for peak excess
flows, and more. Experiences navigating the affordability issue and use
attainability analyses will also provide useful insight into how to ensure
progress toward realistic and achievable goals. The potential perils of an
uncertain regulatory environment loom large. Don’t miss NACWA’s 2005 Summer
Conference!
